    Buy dextrose in powder and take that instead of candy with added artificial flavors and colors. Dextrose is much easier on the body than fructose. The key is consuming a sustained amount, not a high dose at once because it's high glycemic except after workout.

    Even the regular alpha Jym is pretty good. The 1G of ashwaganda helps me sleep better and it helps reduce symptoms of stress. And my workouts have been great lately. Even if I’m tired

    Hello Jim...I am a brand new subscriber and this is the first video I am watching. I turn 62 next month and decided to get back into best shape possible as an older man. I was always in good shape but have not worked out in 3 years. I was in a restaurant last night and the bartender was ripped and I started asking him questions about working out and he responded by handing me a napkin with your name on it and said this man is the most knowledgeable person on YT and will teach you everything you need to know so don't waste time watching any other channels so here I am. First thing I am doing is quitting drinking because I know I am an alcoholic and badly damaging my body and at same time changing my eating habits because we all have to eat to eat so might as well put the best food in your body. But I have no idea where to even begin as far as an exercise routine goes and you have so many videos to watch. I know you advocate a full body workout. Is there a specific video you recommend I start watching first? My incentive for getting back in shape is I am buying a 727 lb Harley for my 62 birthday next month but before I buy the bike I need to increase my entire body strength to comfortably handle a heavy Harley. I sure hope it's easy for an old man to gain muscle and get rid of my body fat as I have done that before. Plus cutting out all the excess sugar from alcohol will drop my calorie intake by 1000 calories a day. I was thinking about going vegan for 90 days which I did in the past and never felt healthier in my life. Or possibly do a 10 day juice fast to quick start my fat loss and start detoxing my body from all the poison I have put in it. The added benefit of fasting besides the health benefits is you drop about a lb a day during a fast and as you load your body up with fresh organic juices. I also realize there is slight muscle loss as well but that's fine compared to how healthy I always feel . I am 5' 7.5" and weigh 140 lbs and want to be back at 130 lbs. I have a very lean body and at my current weight I have a beer belly and want my abs back. I would love to add 10 lbs of muscle but not sure if it's possible for an older man. I do realize that during fasting strenuous exercise is not advisable but light weights and easy cardio like a 3 mile hike or getting on my bicycle is fine. So curious about your thoughts going vegan for 90 days or at a minimum jump start my detox with a 10 day juice cleanse. Thanks in advance for any advice and I apologize for the long comment but I am so stoked to quit drinking and 100% committed to getting back into the best shape possible for a soon-to-be 62 year old man. I am so committed to change that if I find that stopping alcohol is too much to do on my own, I already called the VA and they will cover a 30 day inpatient treatment center. I will do whatever is needed to regain my health and get back into best shape possible. I take this seriously. Stay healthy my friend 🙏

    HIIT while fasted has WORKED BALLS!!! for me - usually wait 4-5 days until in deep ketosis then do 30-45 minutes of Insanity HITT cardio <super duper intensity until virtual exhaustion> water fasting with salt water and potassium citrate and HMB to prevent extra muscle loss = 1.5 to 2 pounds per day or more when doing HITT while fasting 8 to 10 pounds per week fasting 4 days a week - To each his own.

    90% correct. HIIT is harder on the body and not good for people trying to manage overall recovery for strenght/hypertrophy/sport training. Steady state is better. Albeit, at the end of the day whatever works for your lifestyle the best to keep consistent is what you should do. Fasted, intensity, etc.. weekly calories deficit (with or without cardio) is what matters for fat loss. Cardio is great independently for cardiovascular health and overall athleticism/performance and thus long term muscle/strength.

    I have this problem. Started after I had my daughter and had a C section. No idea if it’s related but I never had it before. I can do standing ab exercises all day but the second I lay on a mat to do Pilates style abs (which I’ve happily done for over 15 years in the past) it’s game over. I’m doubled over and literally cannot move or get up until I breathe it out. I’m only happy to see that I’m not alone as I feel like a weirdo!

    I don't know how scientific it is, but sometimes I'll feel like dog sh!# and not wanna work out. I'll start pumping some light weight and often by the end I'm getting in an awesome workout with moderate to heavy weight feeling great!

    I work on my feet all day at a highly physical job. Lots of lifting and I average 5 miles walking. I’ve noticed I’ve been very tired and my back is always sore. Would this help me get enough energy and help with the pain?

    I don't see how this is supposed to induce a greater hypertrophic response. You're taxing your cardiovascular system more than the muscle by the time you're only doing 15 seconds of rest between sets. Is the idea to build up metabolites like lactic acid?

      At that point it probably helps with endurance and then when you go back to 45s or 1m30s rest times it will be a piece of cake. Main message is that it's another way to progress.
